Sometimes I’m skeptical of trying new recipes, especially when they seem so SIMPLE! I tend to think that they won’t have much flavor or just won’t turn out. But last night I made one that’s a hit for the whole family. Of course, I forgot to take a picture of it too, but it was super yummy and pretty easy!
1 lb ground beef
1 – 15oz can tomato sauce (plain)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 TBSP Italian seasoning
2 c. mozzarella cheese
1 package store bought biscuits
Preheat oven to 400. While the oven is preheating, cook beef over medium heat until done, then drain. While beef is still in the pan, add tomato sauce and seasonings. Cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes. In a 2 quart glass baking dish, spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Then pour beef mixture into bottom of the dish. Cover the beef mixture with 2 cups of mozzarella cheese. Then take the biscuits and place each biscuit on top of the mixture. The package I used came with 9 biscuits so I did 3 rows of 3 biscuits. Cook in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown. Once done, remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes before serving. We served this with a side of fresh green beans.
*** One of the great things about this recipe, is that you could really use any toppings that you enjoy on a pizza. You could do a Canadian Bacon & Pineapple mixture, your favorite veggies, a meat lover’s, etc. Be creative to make dinner time more enjoyable! 🙂
