Taco Recipe

We had a family movie night on Monday, which is going to be one of our new weekly traditions, and I cannot wait! Time to take some time to relax with the family 🙂 My goal on Mondays is to make a homemade meal that is easy to eat while watching a movie and have it be something the whole family enjoys. I may take suggestions from the family for meals for movie night once we get the ball rolling. For this week’s movie night, we had tacos. I used to use the packets of seasoning, but after reading the ingredients decided to make one of my own.

BEEF TACOS:
1 lb ground beef
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion salt
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp paprika
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 c. tomato paste
Soft or hard taco shells (I used some local tortillas purchased from the Farmer’s Market)
OPTIONAL:
Sliced lettuce
Chopped tomatoes
Sliced avocado
Salsa
Sour Cream
Taco Sauce
Shredded Cheese

Place beef and all seasonings into a frying pan and cook over medium heat. Once the beef is cooked thoroughly, add tomato paste along with 1 TBSP of water . The mixture will thicken as you cook, so you can add more water if needed. Cook for about 10 minutes until sauce has thickened up. Divide beef amongst taco shells and top with your favorite toppings. I serve this with homemade vegetarian refried beans as well, topped with cheese.
