The Holidays Are Here!

indexAfter 7+ years, the holidays around our house are absolutely FULL! My husband and I have 2 kids together (a 10 year old boy and 5 year old daughter). He also has 2 daughters from a previous marriage (2 girls, ages 17 and 14). Long story short, we haven’t seen his girls in a VERY long time, but that all changed this August. His oldest daughter now lives with us and his 14 year old has been visiting on the weekends. How awesome! There is a lot of happiness in the house right now, which is great rolling into the holidays.

Now that we will have 4 kids under the roof during the holidays, it’s time to start thinking of awesome and fun things to do. I’m thinking of doing the train ride called the Heber Creeper. It’s about an hour from our house, but they do a Polar Express train ride, complete with hot chocolate and Santa Claus. We’ve been meaning to do this for a very long time, but this year seems better than any. Other than that, there will be a lot of shopping, cooking, wrapping, watching holiday movies together like Christmas Vacation, and who knows what else! This holiday season is going to kick some major butt!

What are some holiday traditions that you and your family share? Are you going to be trying any new traditions this year?

Holistic Health & What You Need To Know

tumblr_m2tgbptR2U1qcqnioWhat is Holistic Health? It’s a form of Alternative Medicine that focuses on the ‘whole’ person, rather than a specific ailment. This includes psychological, physical, and social needs.

When it comes to being a Certified Health Coach, Elite Health Coaching focuses on MUCH more than just the foods you are eating. We focus on both primary and secondary foods. What exactly does that mean?

Primary Foods include:

  • Finances
  • Career
  • Education
  • Health
  • Physical Activity
  • Home Cooking
  • Home Environemnt
  • Relationships
  • Social Life
  • Joy
  • Spirituality

Secondary foods are the foods that you are actually eating like protein, fruit, vegetables, dairy, sugar, grains, etc.

In order to be in top physical and mental health, all of these things need to be in sync and balanced. If you aren’t sure how to balance all of these items out, that’s where a health coach comes in! Here are a few benefits of a Certified Health Coach:

  • Help you hit your target weight & stay healthy while doing so
  • Safely help you detox from sugars, gluten, and more while eating whole, natural foods
  • Help you manage your stress in a healthy manner
  • Help you create the balanced life that you strive for and deserve!
  • Hold you accountable for your actions towards your goal
  • Counseling in a safe, non-judgmental environment (don’t worry, I’ve heard it all!)
  • Give you the one-on-one attention that your physician may not be able to provide when it comes to your health and wellness goals
