Product Review – Neutrogena Naturals

ThisOne.png.342x341_q85_cropOccasionally I get to try out products through a company called Influenster. It’s really great because I get to try products that I normally wouldn’t purchase, and often times I’m super excited about them and end up buying them again.

With  Influenster, you usually take a short quiz answering a few things here or there to see if the product is a good fit for you. This time I was able to give the Neutrogena Naturals Make Up Removing Cloths a try. I used make up removing cloths YEARS ago, but since then I typically use coconut oil to remove my mascara and eyeliner, then a facial cleanser to get rid of everything else, followed by astringent and lotion. Saving time on my nightly routine would be nice, so the cloths were definitely a nice change of pace. It was really nice not having to use water to rinse my face off. I was able to wipe my face clean, then I followed it with my regular astringent like I would with my normal routine. It really did help remove my makeup and it was also able to remove my double coating of mascara I sometimes wear. I typically don’t wear makeup regularly, unless I’m out and about, but I did really like not having to wash my face. There were a few times we got home late, but removing my makeup took no time at all. I definitely liked this product and would buy it again at the right price.

One thing that was pretty cool about this product, was that it was focused on a #WipeForWater movement. Weight Loss Challenge - Day 8So the weekend has come and gone. It was a good weekend. We were able to get a lot of family time in, which was very needed after a busy week last week.

The weight loss challenge is going well. I haven’t weighed myself since Wednesday, but I definitely feel flatter in my belly so that’s nice. We’ve been having a fresh juice every day so far and it’s been really, really nice. My skin has cleared up a lot, I’m not so bloated, and I’m feeling overall, really good. We plan on keeping up the juicing daily even after the challenge is over, because we like how it makes us feel.

I’ll weigh myself today to see what progress has been made. I am not really feeling like I’m depriving myself at all, but I am craving some little junk foods like the Girl Scout Cookies sitting patiently in the cupboard. Hopefully they’ll be there when we are done. And if not, there is always next year!

10 Tips To Boost Your Mood

keep-calm-and-boost-your-moodWith the winter months coming, everyone could use a positive mood boost! Here are 10 tips that will help boost your mood.

1. Cut out the junk food. You’ll have a more steady mood throughout the day with less sugar and caffeine. For healthy snack, look to fresh fruit & veggies, whole grains, and nuts.

2. Get plenty of sleep. Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day will help you create an easy to keep routine. Shoot for at least 6 hours, but more ideally 7-8 hours would be best.

3. Smile & Be Positive. If you can’t seem to get out of your funk, try smiling and thinking of something positive. Get a little jar and put positive thoughts in it. When you are feeling down, revisit this jar and see all that you have to be grateful for.

4. Open the blinds. Let the sun shine in, or at least the natural light.

5. Get A Pet. If you haven’t seen Kitten Therapy yet, then you need to. If this doesn’t make you want a pet, nothing else will.

6. Take Up A Hobby. If you tend to get bored which then leads to a crappy mood, look into a hobby that goes along with the things you enjoy. It could be anything from knitting, exercising, drawing, cooking, or whatever you feel like! This is your time, take advantage!

7. Exercise Regularly. Try to exercise a minimum of 150 minutes a week. That is 5 times per week, 30 minutes each time. Or even shoot for 4 times per week, 40 minutes each time.

8. Don’t Over Schedule Yourself. Bad moods can be the cause of too much on your plate. Try delegating to relieve some of that stress. If that’s not an option, see if you can spread the things out a little more during the week.

9. Keep A Routine. Back to the getting enough sleep and going to bed and waking up at the same time. A routine will help keep stress levels balanced and in the process it will boost your mood.

10. Make Your Bed. Yeah, it’s just a bed and you’re just going to sleep in it later tonight anyway, but making the bed creates a sense of calmness in your bedroom, where there should be no stress. Make it your sanctuary. Start this by making your bed.

It’s Been A Long Time!

Wow, it’s been over a month since I posted anything on here! Sorry for the absence. Life has been crazy around here and I’ve just been trying to stay afloat! But on that note, we’ve been spending a lot of time as a family. We haven’t gone on any vacations, but had a little staycation over Labor Day weekend.

We went to a local museum called The Leonardo in Downtown Salt Lake. They had an exhibit called Animals Inside Out. If it’s ever near you, go check it out! It’s awesome.

I was a little nervous that the kids weren’t going to enjoy it or they’d be a little freaked out, but the kids loved it. It was really cool being able to see the inside of an animal. Made you appreciate them a little more. We’ve been watching a lot of soccer and going to games, along with fishing and 4-wheeling. Just enjoying the nice weather before winter tears in here and leaves us all freezing cold and covered in snow! What are some things that you liked to do when you have a staycation?

 

 

 

Relax on Sunday – Daily Tip #153

RelaxonSundayWe have more fishing in store this Sunday. Hopefully I catch one. I’ve been twice so far and haven’t caught anything. I’m ready for a fish to take a bite! We will see though. On Sunday, try to take this day to relax and do a fun activity as a family. It doesn’t have to be a huge extravagant affair, but just some family time to help you reset before getting going tomorrow, Monday morning! Focus on rejuvenating yourself and also your family. Maybe set up a rotation and do a day of (insert family member’s name here). Make this a day all about what they want to do, whether that’s nothing at all, going to an amusement park, or more! Rotate evenly so everyone is included 🙂
